Every child has a right to meaningful and quality education in a positive learning environment.
The VISHWAS Vidyalaya is a recognized inclusive elementary school with nearly 300 students, at any given time, studying in grades between Nursery to VIII. Most of our students are first generation learners, coming from migrant communities marginalised by poverty and with little or no prior exposure to formal education. 17 percent of the students are children with disabilities.
The Vidyalaya aims for holistic and all round development of its students through a well balanced curriculum and by identifying and addressing barriers that prevent active learning and participation. Digital technology is used in classroom transactions and educational trips are organised to make learning more meaningful. Every effort is made by the school staff to provide a stimulating environment that includes a range of co-curricular activities such as sports, music, dance, arts and crafts.
Story of Change

When she joined Vishwas, she was fully dependent on her parents for the day-to-day activities like- wearing clothes, eating food etc. She was very rigid and refused to follow any instructions. As part of the Functional group, under the Skill development programme, she is learning life skills. Initially she used to sleep in class but now she involves with her classmates and also likes to play with them. In the phonetic sessions, she tries to repeat sounds. Her parents are very happy with the positive developments.

It was a huge challenge for the teachers as she did not show much interest in academics or other activities. Multiple meetings had to be held with her parents. They were very responsive and cooperative. With individual attention her focus improved. She started showing all round improvement. She could not only read and write but also improved in mathematics. Over the last two years she has exhibited remarkable improvement in academics. Encouragement from teachers has helped her to participate in extra-curricular activities.
She is now one of the top scorers in her class and scored 75% in the annual exam. She is very sincere, hardworking, regular and respectful to her teachers and classmates. Her parents are very happy to see her come a long way from the days when she could hardly read and write.
